History & Owners
The Lodge was completed in 2001 but Hurricane Iris came and wiped out the property the day before they officially opened. While many people would have given up, Bruno Kuppinger continued to pursue his dream and have since rebuilt the accommodation which opened in 2004.
The Lodge got it´s name from the combination of the hot and dry sun and the creek that runs through the property, thus making it Sun Creek Lodge. Bruno, originally from Germany, has a love for both business and the outdoors. Running the lodge and tours gives Bruno the opportunity to balance the creativity, hospitality, personal interests and formal training into one of the top accommodations off-the-beaten path.
The National Tourism Awards is held every year to honor organizations and persons whose performance continues to characterize distinction, comprehensive industriousness, and thus worthy of merit and recognition. A total of 14 awards will be presented every year at a prestigious ceremony.
